ART SHOW EXTRAVAGANZA

Walking among the works of a gifted artist is a exhilerating experience. It’s even more spectacular when there are 140 of those artists, which makes the 39th Annual Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce Mary O. Fritchie Outdoor Juried Fine Art Show a can’t-miss this weekend. The longest-running premiere summer art show in the Hamptons showcases the talents of fine artists both local and from abroad, sure to inspire and engage serious art enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.

OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT

Grab your blanket, lawn chair and a picnic (or at least some popcorn!) and head to the outdoor film series Films on the Haywall at Marders. This week’s movie is Alfred Hitchcock’s 1959 gem North by Northwest, the classic thriller starring Cary Grant as a New York City ad executive pursued across the country after being mistaken for a government agent. As edge-of-your-seat exciting as any summer blockbuster!

SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK

O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? In Greenport, of course, as the Bard’s star-crossed lovers come out under the stars on the North Fork for two nights at Northeast Stage Presents Romeo and Juliet.

SOUTHAMPTON BENEFIT, TROPICAL STYLE

Have a great time while getting behind a great cause at Southampton Hospital’s 53rd Annual Summer Party, A Tropical Paradise, dancing the night away to music by the Alex Donner Orchestra and bidding on such silent auction items as 4 U.S Open Final tickets. The celebration supports the Hospital’s Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department, which serves more than 25,000 residents and visitors annually on Long Island’s South Fork.

Place: Under the tents at Wickapogue Road in Southampton

FREE  FAMILY FUN WITH DAN’S PAPERS

End your weekend on a high note at Dan’s Papers 39th Annual Kite Fly at Sagg Main Beach! Along with soaring kites of all shapes and sizes, we’re looking forward to jugglers, face painters, live music and some of our favorite cartoon characters parading the beach, entertaining kids of all ages! Prizes will be awarded for the highest flight, best homemade kite and more—there’s even a special Best Pet Kite award from our friends at Bideawee. And don’t miss Dan Rattiner’s story about the Kite Fly!

Place: Sagg Main Beach, Sagaponack
