Montauk Surf Fishing Classic
When & Where: Friday, September 23 through Sunday, September 25. Starts at noon on September 23
Top surfcasters and weekend warriors alike come to The End drawn by the fact that are few experiences as exhilarating as surfcasting off Montauk—especially at this annual showcase tournament. The stripers and blues will be out there, and there’ll be prizes for the largest bluefish and striped bass the surfcasters bring in. Ready to get your fish on?

A day of art, music, food, entertainment and history to celebrate the season. Live demonstrations by the Maniac Pumpkin Carvers, a juried art show, farmers market, Taste of Southampton chowder contest, and live music with Jim Turner, Charles Certain, Steve Watson Jazz Trio, Ahmad Ali, Nick Kerzner, Leah Laurenti and Monica Hughes, plus a free concert in Agawam Park with New Life Crisis.
13th Annual Greenbelt Celebration Day
When & Where: Saturday, September 24, 10 a.m to 1 p.m. Round Pond Lane, Sag Harbor
The beauty of the local environment takes center stage when you come out for trail hikes with naturalist, birders, local historians and a snake expert, the Goat on a Boat puppet theater and exhibitors including the South Fork Natural History Society, Children’s Museum of the East End, Southampton Trails Preservation Society, Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons and Suffolk County Parks.
Evening Lighthouse Cruise
Where & When: Saturday, September 24. 3:30 pm at the Seaport Museum in Greenport for boarding passes and a tour, depart 4 pm
Tour of the Hamptons Bicycle Ride
Where & When: Sunday, September 25, 7:30 am to 5 pm. Register day of event at Southampton High School
Cycle through Amagansett, Montauk and Southampton, alongside the beaches, farms and fabulous homes of Long Island’s South Fork, during the 20th anniversary of the Tour of the Hamptons. The tour has routes of 25, 50, 70, 100 miles, and two 25 mile guided rides. Portions of the proceeds fund contributions to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Maureen’s Haven, Bikes-for-Kids and several high school scholarship funds.
