To The Mysterious Photographer That Took This Picture, I Thank You
I was at my Dad’s house yesterday in East Hampton and saw him feverishly going through old photos inside of the house. “What are you doing Dad?”
“I’m looking up some old pictures for my next book.”
There were loads of pictures, everywhere, all of them were scattered across the television room or as my Dad likes to call it, “The Library.”
I started to think about what a pleasure it is to look through physical pictures versus looking them on a computer screen. A lot of these pictures were over thirty years old.
And then, my Dad came across the coolest picture that I have ever seen, and I didn’t even know that we had it. It is a picture of me when I was 19 years old and in college at Northeastern. I can tell because I’m wearing my rowing jacket from back then, and then a younger, sort of weird looking Alec Baldwin is in the picture, along with my Dad.
“Do you remember this?” my Dad said.
“NO!!! WHERE WAS THIS?!?!?! WHO TOOK THIS PICTURE!!? THIS IS THE COOLEST PICTURE EVER!”
I honestly had no idea that this picture even existed until yesterday. We talked about it for a while, and neither one of us could figure it out. Obviously, it had to do with some Hamptons event that Alec Baldwin was at, but I have no idea who could have possibly taken this picture or how it ended up in my house. I’m guessing that it was with my Dad’s camera, and he gave it to somebody to take the picture, but I’d really like to know where this was. If anybody can figure this out, I’d really appreciate it. I believe that this was taken in 2001 or early 2002.
