Occupy the Hamptons Is Today
The Occupy the Hamptons protest at the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor is set for today, and its organizer, James Monaco, wrote up some instructions to protesters on meetup.com in order to keep things, well, not too protesty.
James writes,
We’ll meet to support Occupy Wall Street. . . and see what develops.
Sag Harbor Village Code does not require a permit for a meeting of fewer than 75 people. Since we don’t have time to get a permit, to be safe, let’s limit the group to 50 at any one time. No drums. Don’t block traffic. Sag Harbor police will have an officer there. Be cool.
It’s amazing how fast this protest organized. Their new website is sleeker than the Occupy Wall Street website.
Are you heading out to Occupy the Hamptons? What are your thoughts on the event?
