A movie film festival can introduce people to new movies and to new styles of entertainment. The Hamptons International Film Festival is one of the leading East Coast film festivals, presenting independent features and documentary films in various venues in the towns of East Hampton, Southampton, Sag Harbor and Montauk on Long Island, New York.
It is one of the best places to meet and talk with young new talent, as well as well-known, already established talent… informally, sitting next to them at parties; or in impromptu interviews and at scheduled events.
Founded to celebrate independent film and to introduce a unique and varied spectrum of international films and filmmakers, the festival is committed to showing films that express fresh voices and differing global perspectives, with the hope that these programs will enlighten audiences, provide invaluable exposure for filmmakers and present inspired entertainment for all.
This year there seems to be more than the usual number of interesting films.
“Jeff, Who Lives At Home,” a Paramount Pictures release, will screen at Guild Hall in East Hampton on October 13 as the Opening Night Film of the Festival.
The 19th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival will take place this year from October 13 through October 17. “The Artist,” a Weinstein Company release, will screen at Guild Hall in East Hampton on October 16 as the Closing Night Film of the Festival.
