The Question: Is now the right time to buy a home in the Hamptons?

The Answer from Bill Carroll at Hampton One Real Estate Group: Have you ever heard a real estate agent answer “no” to that question?  Not likely. I can envision a real estate agent from long ago standing on Dune Road during the 1938 hurricane screaming, “Now’s a great time to buy!”

But all things considered, they would have been right. The answer for me is simple: It will always be the right time to buy in the Hamptons; just not every house, every dayA buyer’s agent will help you see the opportunity and pick your spot wisely. More on that in a moment. But unwise purchases are made here all the time. And it’s usually because of a lack of information. Just because it’s a buyer’s market does not mean each and every home is a bargain. Caveat emptor was never as important as when buying real estate here on the East End of Long Island…or anywhere, for that matter.

So what’s the best way for a buyer to protect themselves and make sure they are getting a good purchase?

The Answer from Bill Carroll at Hampton One Real Estate Group: If you’re buying a home here in the Hamptons and want to be sure your purchase is a sound one, choose to work with a Buyer’s Agent. When you have a buyer’s agent on your side, you can rest assured they work solely for you, representing your best interest and avoiding conflicts of interest that are inherent in traditional real estate transactions. This unique relationship built on trust and commitment means that buyers net the best possible outcome.

Bill, isn’t every agent that works with buyers a “buyers agent”?

The Answer from Bill Carroll at Hampton One Real Estate Group: No. Not by a long shot. Most agents here in the Hamptons represent the seller, whether they are showing their listing or someone else’s. The very reason we started Hampton One Real Estate Group is so buyer’s can get the exclusive representation they deserve and have a right to. Having all the facts regarding a property and being able to share them with my buyer clients is the only true way I can say it’s always the right time to buy a home in the Hamptons.
