Greenport To Sag Harbor By Ferry Getting Closer To Reality

Well, it looks like we’ve got some forward looking thinking happening in Sag Harbor. The Sag Harbor Village Board voted 4-1 in favor of a Public Hearing that would have a purpose of creating a law that would allow ferries in Sag Harbor.
If the slow process continues in the direction in favor of a ferry, a pilot program that would shuffle passengers between Greenport and Sag Harbor this summer.
It’s all very possible, with some very smart people in favor of the ferry, including Hampton Jitney owner and president Geoff Lynch, who along with his partner Jim Ryan, would operate the ferry. The ferry would be foot passengers only and would be a 53-foot low wake catamaran.
