The Sunlight Only Diet Does Not Work Out For A Swiss Woman
So we are at that point, are we? Literally, grown human beings—with educations, we assume—are seriously able to be convinced that they can live on sunlight…and sunlight alone.
Zurich newspaper Tages-Anzeiger has reported that an unnamed woman in her 50s decided to follow a diet in 2010 that consisted of not eating and sitting in sunlight. She made this decision after watching an Austrian documentary about an Indian guru who claims to have lived that way for 70 years.
If you know me, you know that I get angry about people being put on serious news networks and interviewed as “experts” and giving advice that is clearly moronic. The other day I was angry about a broadcast that said sugar was poisonous. I get angry when I see people advocating a no-carb diet, or when health experts go on television and advise that tap water could kill you. I get furious when I watch “reality” television.
It’s called lying, folks. People do it a lot. And a woman died, it appears, because she got duped into believing that a human being can live only on sunlight after she saw a documentary about it on television that was presented as real.
The people that made that documentary should face legal consequences.
