10 Things To Do This Weekend In The Hamptons

Beautiful weather, big events. How are you going to spend it in the Hamptons or up on the North Fork? Here are ten that we are sure you’ll enjoy!

1. The Greenport Maritime Festival

Classic tall ships, ice boats, antique boats and more watery wonders await, as do craft vendors and Greenport Harbor Brewing Company’s beer garden, at this annual celebration of the North Fork village’s nautical history and spirit.

2. Jordan’s Initiative Fishing Tournament on the Long Wharf

Grab your fishing gear and head to Sag Harbor for the Jordan’s Initiative Fishing Tournament on the Long Wharf. Music, food and fun are all part of this day supporting a great cause as Jordan’s Initiative teams up with Building Homes for Heroes and Patient Airlift Services.

3. Music Legends at Bay Street!

When’s the last time you saw Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Bill Monroe, Ruth Brown, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Woody Guthrie and Chuck Berry perform…on the same night! Take a journey through the tapestry of American blues, country, jazz, rock, folk and bluegrass with “Legends of American Music” at Bay Street Theatre.

4. Joe Jackson & The Bigger Band at WHBPAC

Five-time Grammy Award-nominated British singer/songwriter/keyboardist, Joe Jackson & The Bigger Band, will perform at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Sunday, September 23 at 8pm. Tickets are $150, $125, $100.

5. 90 Minute Bug Lighthouse Excursions

See the historic offshore lighthouses of Long Island Sound and Gardiner’s Bay.

6. A Hike Along the South Fork In Poxabouge

On this one and one-half-hour hike, you’ll have an opportunity to learn about the value of our native grassland habitat, an area all too rare here on the East End. You’ll walk from the meadow behind SoFo to the grasslands of Poxabogue County Park; two areas where continuing efforts are being made to remove non-native, invasive plants and reestablish healthy populations of natives.

7. Check Out Some Art In Greenport at The South Street Gallery

8. A Wine Tasting Carnival at a Church In Hampton Bays

9. Screening of National Theatre Live: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

Mark Haddon’s celebrated, multi-award-winning novel is beautifully and imaginatively adapted into a stage play by Simon Stephens. Shown at Guild Hall in East Hampton

10.  Southampton Chamber of Commerce Farmers’ Market

Market features vendors offering local products including vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, shellfish, beef, pork, poultry, dairy, pickles, cakes, breads, pastries, fudge, olive oils, marinades, jams, spice rubs, sauces, etc.
