If You're The Kind Of Guy That Wants To Buy A Yacht On Craigslist, Sag Harbor Has One For You

By David Rattiner
2 minute 11/27/2012 Share

I was perusing Craigslist this morning completely randomly when I came across an ad that I thought was pretty funny, a giant yacht in Sag Harbor that is for sale for $179,000. Normally on Craigslist you find pretty odd ball items, like books or used beds or things like that, so I had to read on. The ad reads:
1989 OFFSHORE 48′ HARTMAN & PALMER COCKPIT MOTOR YACHT-MINT COND!! – $179,000 (Sag Harbor, Ny)

Recent price reduction, owner relocating. All reasonable offers considered. Great alternative to a home in the Hamptons -live in luxury on the water!!! Beautifully maintained Hartman Palmer Coast Guard documented vessel. Over $100,000 spent w overhaul by Essex Boat Works in 2008/2009 making this an exceptional offer and one of the finest of its type on the market. Twin Caterpillars w only 1,250 hours. Ready to cruise to Florida in style, w dinghy, davit, upgraded electronics and luxuriously appointed.

Spacious master aft cabin w full size king berth, access to cockpit, ensuite head and shower and teak flooring. Salon – large salon features complete entertainment console, tv, stereo, and lower helm to starboard and a galley and dining area to port. Gourmet galley is aft of salon w natural light and ample storage. New Tundra refrigerator w freezer, water heater, Princess 3 burner stove, microwave and cabinetry and plenty of storage space.

The ad also mentions that the owner of the boat invested more than $100,000 in repairs to the boat.

I’m impressed with this. Sag Harbor is classing up Craigslist! I have a feeling thought that I could find a better place for these guys to advertise their boat…
