“The Voice” Lands Paul McCartney Back on the Charts

He had fans on their feet at the 12-12-12 concert on Wednesday night, and now two songs written by Amagansett legend Paul McCartney are back on the charts this week thanks to NBC’s singing competition The Voice and the fan favorite classic rocker contestant Terry McDermott.

McCartney’s Beatles hit “Let it Be,” performed by McDermott, reached number two on the iTunes Top 10 overall singles chart and it topped the iTunes rock chart on Tuesday. McDermott’s performance of the Wings hit “Maybe I’m Amazed” ranked fifth in the same category.

The Voice is heading quickly to its finale on December 18, when McDermott will face off against pop sensation Cassadee Pope (who topped the iTunes overall singles chart with “Stupid Boy”) and soulful finalist Nicholas David.

McDermott and Pope represent Team Blake [Shelton] in the finale, while David goes to the big show under the tutelage of Ceel o Green. Coaches Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine do not have finalists in this year’s contest.

Songs from The Voice can be purchased on iTunes.
