More Wildlife Photographed in the Hamptons

Dan’s Papers contributing writer and studly East End resident Alex Goetzfried photographed some local seals swimming in Shinnecock Inlet from the Southampton side on Tuesday morning, April 2. A number of seals have been appearing on beaches around the South Fork over the last two weeks.

Goetzfried also caught an osprey fishing and building its nest on Shinnecock Bay in East Quogue last week.

While pursing his lips and squinting into the sunlight, the writer and photographer shared that a second osprey moved into the nest and the pair were hunting together Tuesday morning. “I’m hoping in a few months to get pictures of osprey chicks being fed and maybe write an article on how they are making a come back,” he explained, noting that he “loves chicks.”

They love him too.
