Steven Spielberg Promotes Transformers: The Ride-3D on "Today" show
East Hampton director Steven Spielberg was on the Today show last week to promote Transformers: The Ride-3D at the Universal Studios theme park in Orlando, Florida.
Speaking in front of three hulking Transformers robots, the Oscar-winning director told fellow Hamptonite Al Roker, “The ride is designed with the audience in mind…,” adding, “It’s all about you.”
Roker, who tried the ride, said, “It’s about as immersive as it gets.”
Spielberg is Executive Producer of the Transformers films, which are directed by Michael Bay. He also helped create the Universal Studios theme park in Orlando. The park already includes popular rides based on Spielberg’s films Jaws and E.T. Universal Studios Orlando opened in 1990, followed by Islands of Adventure in 1999.
