Hamptons Stars Among 2013 Emmy Award Nominees
The nominations are in! And it’s no surprise the Hamptons is represented in this year’s 65th Annual Prime Time Emmy Awards.
30 Rock, starring Amagansett actor Alec Baldwin and Hamptons regular Jane Krakowski, led the comedy pack with 13 total nominations for its final season, including Outstanding Comedy series, Outstanding Actor (Baldwin) and Actress (Tina Fey) and Supporting Actress (Krakowski) in a Comedy.
HBO’s Girls (which recently filmed on the North Fork) is also up for Outstanding Comedy, while the show’s creator Lena Dunham earned an Outstanding Actress in a Comedy nod for her leading role as Hannah Horvath.
Christine Baranski—who starred in Terrence McNally‘s play Lips Together, Teeth Apart about two married couples in the Hamptons over a July 4 weekend—was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama for her role in The Good Wife, while East Quogue’s Michael J. Fox and Nathan Lane of East Hampton were nominated for guest roles on the same show. Lane also picked up a nom for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy for his appearance on Modern Family.
Bobby Cannavale was nominated for his supporting turn in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, and a guest spot on Showtime’s Nurse Jackie, a show which landed star
Edie Falco an Outstanding Actress in a Comedy nomination.
Scandal star and recent Hamptons visitor Kerry Washington is up for Outstanding Actress in a Drama.
SNL alum and Hamptons regular Molly Shannon was tapped for Guest Actress in a Comedy for her performance in HBO’s Enlightened, East Hamptonite Melissa Leo was nominated for the same award for her role on FX’s Louie and Kristen Wiig got the Guest Actress in a Comedy nod for her appearance on Saturday Night Live.
Heidi Klum and Hamptons visitor Tim Gunn of Project Runway earned a co-nomination for Outstanding Reality TV Host and their program is up for Outstanding Reality Show Competition.
Last year’s winner of Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series, The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, hosted by North Haven’s favorite comedian Jon Stewart, is up for the award again this year, along with local star Jimmy Fallon‘s Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and Hampton resident Lorne Michaels’ Saturday Night Live.
Hamptons regular Sigourney Weaver was nominated for Lead Actress in a TV Miniseries or Movie for Political Animals.
