It Was One Epic Time At Dan's Taste Of Two Forks Last Night
The sold out crowd at Dan’s Taste of Two Forks last night at Sayre park in Bridgehampton was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Chef Bobby Flay, who hosted last night, brought his movie star-like energy to the event.
The party had a surreal like quality to it. Dan’s Taste of Two Forks has truly taken on a life of its own. Bobby Flay gave a speech on the main stage and gave a shout out to one of the vendors, Gourmet Sorbet, who was serving dishes such as pistachio ice-cream (amazing) and cucumber and wine sorbet, as well as to the restaurants of the North Fork.
Mr. Flay, who was standing on stage next to Dan Rattiner and was allowing guests to take his picture looked very cheerful. I asked him what he thought of the event and he said, “I’m having a great time, this is a fantastic event.”
As you bounced around the tent from one area to another, nearly every restaurant on the East End was represented. Zach Erdem from 75 Main gave out dishes while next to the Batch 19 beer station, which offers up a recipe of beer that was discovered post prohibition. Georgica Restaurant’s station looked busy, as well as the Nammos station, where I later talked to the manager of the restaurant who said, “So many people are talking to us about the Dan’s Taste of Two Forks event. I can’t believe it. We had so much fun.”
I tried the paella that was being sampled out by none other then the legendary grocer Citarella and yes, it was amazing. Right in the middle of the tent was a brand new BMW that guests could marvel at as they tasted the best food and drink on earth.
Among some of the unsung heroes of last night who worked the front door handling tickets and entrance bracelets was none other than staff members of Dan’s Papers Ellen Dioguardi, Lisa Barone and Evy Anderson and the rest of the volunteers at the front who got guests inside the tent quickly and handled the rock concert sized crowd graciously.
