Gwyneth Paltrow Throws Hamptons Garden Party for Stella McCartney
Amagansett actress, cookbook author and People magazine’s “Most Beautiful Woman” Gwyneth Paltrow threw what she called an English Garden Party in the Hamptons to celebrate her brand goop’s first capsule collection with pal Stella McCartney, called “Stella x goop.”
Paltrow released a video of the party on Monday (below), showing her and a star-studded guest list enjoying a lovely day behind the hedges, where they played badminton (Naomi Watts was the day’s champion!) and other lawn games, danced on the grass, enjoyed English snacks and drinks (fish n’ chips, vegetable pot pies, Guinness, Stella Artois) and spent time with family and friends.
Jazz musician Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Band provided a live soundtrack.
Attendees included Paltrow’s mother Blythe Danner and hubby Chris Martin, Stella’s legendary father Paul McCartney, as well as friends Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz, Watts, designer Cynthia Rowley and art dealer Bill Powers, and Rachel Zoe, among others.
The goop collection Paltrow and company celebrated features an exclusive black and navy jean ($695.00), a black wool blazer ($1,895), charcoal jumpsuit ($1,240), black wool trousers ($835), grey beckett clutch ($770 sold out) and black beckett shoulder bag ($1,230 sold out).
Explaining the small collection of six designs on goop.com, Paltrow wrote:
Sometimes in life you get a girlfriend who becomes like a sister. Someone who really sees you. Who is as honest with you as they are loving. Who shares a similar world view, who has similar values. Who is a bit of a life raft when you live in a country that you lovingly adopt, but is not your own. Who also happens to be hilarious and a bit naughty and is constantly trying to get the balance of everything right, just like you are. Who is also one of your favorite designers ever, who has a ruthless eye and makes perfect, perfect things. Stella is that girl and so much more. I convinced her to do a collaboration, a very mini capsule collection of some beautiful, covetable things.
