After two years of growing success, Southampton SeptemberFest has expanded to three days. During the festival, Southampton Village will offer a wide range of exciting events that embrace art, music, food, history and fun. Past years’ events brought thousands of people to village streets with the Maniac Pumpkin Carvers, the “Best of Hamptons” Chowder Contest, music and activities for families, all of which are scheduled to return. The weekend includes a Friday evening kick-off party” at 6:30 p.m. with music by the popular Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks at Agawam Park ($30 advance/$40 door), followed by a crowd-pleasing line-up of free music scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the park and at various locations around the village. Sag Harbor American Music Festival

Grooving into its third year, the Sag Harbor American Music Festival is celebrating this whale of a town with free live performances and one special kickoff concert to promote Sag Harbor as a cultural destination. The music ranges from local to global, jazz and blues, roots and folk, pop and more. The festival kicks off with a Main Stage concert ($25 admission) from Grammy winner Beau Soleil featuring Michael Doucet at the Old Whalers’ Church on Friday night, followed by a day of free music on Saturday with dozens of acts. The official after party at Bay Street Theatre on Saturday night features Dan Bailey Tribe and Joe Delia & Thieves from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., $10 tickets available day of the show at the Bay Street Box Office. The New York Times declared Michael Brown, “a young piano visionary,” praising him for his “powerful technique and a vivid imagination.” An equally committed pia8nist and composer, Brown’s unique artistry often involves interweaving of classics with contemporary works and his own compositions. 15th Annual Celebration of the Long Pond Greenbelt

South Fork Natural History Museum, 377 Bridgehampton/ Sag Harbor Turnpike
Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt, the South Fork Natural History Museum, and the Peconic Land Trust invite familes to enjoy and celebrate the beautiful fall colors of the Greenbelt. There will be games, crafts, hikes, information about the Greenbelt, a migratory bird walk with naturalist, birder, and published author John Turner, a reptile hike with “Snake-Man” Chris Chapin, and a nature puppet show with Goat on a Boat. Harvest Dar Fair

In the middle of the weekend-long Southampton SeptemberFest celebration—the Southampton Historical Museum puts on its annual Harvest Day Fair. The free event recreates life in 19th century Southampton. The fair will feature costumed trade and craftsmen demonstrating decoy carving, beekeeping, blacksmithing, candle making, basketry and many more traditional skills. There are many activities for both children and adults to participate in. Civil War re-enactors will make camp and demonstrate rifle shooting and parading, and Shinnecock Indian Nation members will perform drumming. Silhouette artist Deborah O’Connor, using only scissors and paper, will create silhouettes in exacting detail, and musicians Edith and Bennett, from Sylvester Manor on Shelter Island, will perform 19th century ballads and sea shanties.
East End SEPTO Family Fun Fair

The East End Special Education PTO will host its annual Family Fun Fair. The Family Fair is an afternoon of fun for children and their families and will include a petting zoo, face painting, games, bounce house, obstacle course, prizes, dunk tank, music, food andchinese auction.
Tide Runners Farewell Bash

Tide Runners Restaurant, 7 North Road, Hampton Bays
Tide Runners, a popular Hampton Bays bar, restaurant and marina, is taking a final bow Saturday, September 28. The popular spot on the Shinnecock Canal is expected to be knocked down to make way for townhouses. Tide Runners was always packed on summer Fridays as local and visitors headed there to meet friends at the bar, listen to music or have dinner — either inside or outside with a view of the canal. Though the restaurant closed for the season September 15, it is opening its doors one last time on Saturday to welcome friends from the past 11 years. The farewell bash will kick off at 4 p.m. and feature music by Double Play and DJ Mouse from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and a live performance by New Life Crisis and DJ Soco from 10 p.m. till late.
