Ghost Hunter, Museum Director Discuss Hamptons Hauntings
On Tuesday morning, Southampton Historical Museum Executive Director Tom Edmonds and Dan’s Papers’ own Oliver Peterson visited the studio of WPPB 88.3 FM in Southampton Village for a live interview to discuss the museum’s ghost hunting excursions scheduled this month, which Peterson and his wife, Colleen, will host.
In addition to being an artist and a web editor, Peterson is a paranormal investigator who belongs to Island Ghost Investigations.
“You have to remain open minded but you also have to be skeptical,” Peterson told WPPB radio host Bonnie Grice.
Edmonds said that there are a number of reported hauntings locally, and when Peterson approached him about investigating at the museum’s historic properties, he was excited to do it.
The first ghost hunt is this Saturday at Conscience Point in North Sea, and it is already sold out. Aspiring ghost hunters can still sign up for Saturday, October 19 at the Thomas Halsey Homestead in Southampton Village and Saturday, October 26 at the Rogers Mansion, also in the village. Flashlights, cameras and voice recorders are encouraged. Admission is $18. Each ghost hunt is limited to 20 adults. Register by calling 631-283-2494.
