Hamptonites Land Among Forbes Highest Earners
East Hampton resident, producer, rapper and entrepreneur Sean Combs, best known as Diddy, took the top spot in Forbes magazine’s annual list of highest-earning hip-hop stars. Diddy earned $50 million last year from several revenue sources, including his Bad Boy record label, Blue Flame agency, Sean John clothing line and endorsement deal with Ciroc vodka.
Law & Order: SVU star and East Hampton resident Mariska Hargitay made Forbes’ recently released list of TV’s highest paid actresses. With a salary of $11 million, Hargitay tied for second place. South Fork fan Sofia Vergara, who stars on ABC’s Modern Family and recently attended the Hampton Classic and ate at 75 Main in Southampton, topped the list with $30 million.
With a net worth of $31 billion, Hamptonite Michael Bloomberg landed at number 10 in the Forbes 400 richest people in America list for 2013. Bloomberg, who held the same spot in 2012, is also listed 16th among “Powerful People” and 13th among billionaires (7th in America). He is also, unquestionably, the world’s richest mayor—at least until December when he must relinquish the position.
Forbes listed Water Mill resident Madonna among their “Ones to Watch,” a list of 15 up-and-comers The magazine’s editors say the pop star is already worth $500 million, and they’re betting she’ll eventually be one of the Forbes 400 richest people.
