Kids’ Thanksgiving Weekend Calendar: Wild Turkey Storytime, ‘Mooseltoe,’ Puppet Show

Weekends in the Hamptons always have many fun activities scheduled for kids and whole families, and that is particularly true this Thanksgiving weekend. Here are selections from local libraries, museums, and more.

KIDS CLUB

SOFO—LODO’S WILD TURKEY STORYTIME FOR CHILDREN AGES 3–5
10 a.m. Join Crystal and her story-time puppet, Lodo the River Otter, as they read Gobble Gobble by Cathryn Falwell to learn more about the bird that almost became our national symbol. After the story, everyone will look for signs of wild turkey in the field behind the museum, and then you’ll have an opportunity to create your own decorative turkey to take home. SHAKE, RATTLE & ROLL

MOOSELTOE
11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Featuring the voices of Al Roker, Jon Cullum, Christopher Plummer, Faith Prince, Carole Shelly and more. This whimsical and magical family musical tells the story of Mooseltoe Moose, who pursues his seemingly impossible dream of flying Santa’s sleigh, while learning many valuable lessons along the way. SHARK DIVE 
11 a.m. Daily, ages 12 and up (12–17 must be accompanied by a parent). Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center, 431 East Main Street, Riverhead. The aquarium puts you into a cage in the middle of more than 10 circling sharks! PUPPET SHOW
11 a.m.–noon. With a new Muppets movie in the works, kids will love to see puppets live! Goat on a Boat Puppet Theatre  has some great performances coming up. On November 30, The Puppet Company will perform “Al E. YOUTH GROUP CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING & SOCIAL
6 p.m. In their own version of Rockefeller Center, The Youth Group at the Basilica Parish of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary will light the two great trees on the church’s front lawn. There will be carol singing, the lighting of the magnificent trees followed by a social in the Parish Hall with hot chocolate and refreshments.
