Justin Bieber Charged with Drunk Driving, Resisting Arrest
Justin Bieber, the 19-year-old pop sensation who has made a habit of finding himself on the front page of tabloids, was arrested in Miami Beach on the morning of January 23 for drunken driving, resisting arrest and driving without a valid license, according to authorities.
According to CNN, Bieber said, “I ain’t got no f—ing weapons,” as he was patted down. The troubled star did apparently mention that he drank, smoked pot and took prescription medication prior to driving. Bieber was reportedly drag racing.
He posed for a smiley mugshot by the Miami Beach Police Department.
While this is Bieber’s first arrest, he is no stranger to mayhem. In August of 2013, Bieber’s security team reportedly got into an altercation with a patron at Southampton’s South Pointe Nightclub.
Bieber, originally from Ontario, was discovered on YouTube by talent manager Scooter Braun, and after meeting with R&B icon Usher, was signed to Raymond Braun Media Group. Bieber’s first EP My World was certified platinum in the U.S. and double platinum in Canada and the United Kingdom. His debut album My World 2.0, was an immense success and won several awards, including American Music Awards for Artist of the Year and Favorite Pop/Rock Album, as well as Billboard Music Awards for Top New Artist and Top Pop Album.
