Not only was a snowstorm swirling January 22, but there was also a controversy swirling about the landmark status of the elegant Rizzoli Bookstore in Manhattan, when Gary Lawrance signed copies there of the revised edition of his coffee table classic Houses of the Hamptons, 1880-1930.
