Billy Joels Books November Madison Square Garden Show
Less than a week after adding a 10th show to the Madison Square Garden concert series, Sag Harbor’s Billy Joel has announced his 11th show at the iconic venue, on November 25.
Joel, as MSG’s first artist-in-residence, is performing monthly shows as long as there is still demand for tickets. It appears that demand won’t be waning anytime soon—the first nine shows have sold out.
Tickets to both the October and November shows go on sale to the general public Friday, February 14, at 10 a.m. There is a presale for Citi cardmembers starting Tuesday, February 11, at 10 a.m. Ticket prices range from $81.45 to $144.95, inclusive of fees. Visit billyjoelmsg.com.
Joel has played 46 or so concerts at MSG since 1978, and he could very well play 46 more before his monthly concert series comes to a close. Back in 2006, Joel set a record for the most consecutive sold out shows at the Garden, with 12 performances. He is now poised to break that record in January 2015 if he stays on pace.
His USSR tour was the subject of the new documentary Billy Joel: A Matter of Trust.
His daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, recently paid tribute to her father with a cover of his classic “Just the Way You Are” and performed it on Katie and Today.
Joel has won six Grammys, including the Grammy Legend Award, and he has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
