DA to Announce Arrests of 'Hollywood' Heroin Dealers
The East End Drug Task Force has arrested drug dealers from Riverhead, Mastic and Harlem who have been distributing potent heroin stamped “Hollywood,” and the Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota will hold a press conference Wednesday morning to detail the bust, according to the D.A.’s office.
“Six alleged dealers, five from Riverhead and one from Mastic, were involved in a network that purchased the heroin in Harlem and sold it to users here in Suffolk County,” Spota said in a statement. “East End Drug Task Force undercover detectives learned that heroin bearing the ‘Hollywood’ stamp had reputation on the streets of being of the highest quality and heroin users would travel to Riverhead from Bridgehampton, Southampton, Southampton Village, Sag Harbor, Quogue, Greenport, and from as far west as Ronkonkoma and Miller Place, to buy it.”
In addition to the six Suffolk men, three men from Harlem were arrested. Their names and charges will be revealed Wednesday.
Search warrant not only turned up heroin, but weapons as well, according to the D.A.’s office.
