A 52-year-old homeless man was found on the roadside in Riverhead around midnight Thursday night and police are asking for the public’s help to find his assailants.
Police said they and Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance EMTs responded to the intersection of Pulaski Street and Marcy Avenue when a 911 caller reported the man lying in the shoulder of Pulaski Street. The man was “alert, but non-verbal,” police said, and he was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for facial injuries.
Police said the injuries are non-life-threatening but consistent with a physical assault.
