It's Pi Day and I'm in Love with Math
Today, Friday, March 14, is Pi Day. This date celebrates the mathematical constant of pi, which, in shortened form, is 3.14. Expanded out, pi equates to 3.14159265358979323846264338327950288419… Or, more appropriately, to a delicious, circular sweet. Incidentally, this week’s cover model Albert Einstein was born on March 14.
Plan to celebrate Pi Day with a pie.
Or this fantastic “Pi Day” song by Rebecca Math:
3.14, waking up my learning
Gotta love math, gotta chart the stars
Gotta round bowl, to eat my cereal
The circumference, has a ratio
Diameter is on, everybody’s countin’
Gotta get down to when the number stops
Gotta count pi, I have no friends (No friends)
Countin’ in the front seat
Measuring the feet
Gotta make my mind up
Which measurement to take?
It’s Pi Day, Pi Day
3.14 on Pi Day
It’s a lot of numbers to find the end, find the end
Pi Day, Pi Day
Countin’ down on Pi Day
It’s a lot of numbers to find the end, find the end
Countin’, countin’ (Pi)
Countin’, countin’ (Pi)
Three, point, one, four
Many more numbers till the end
3.14, we’re countin’ on the pi-way
Countin’ so fast, I want time for pi
Three, point, one, four
You know what pi is
Pi got this, who got this
My friend is pi all right
Pi got this, who got this
Now you know it
Countin’ in the front seat
Measuring the feet
Gotta make my mind up
Which measurement to take?
It’s Pi Day, Pi Day
3.14 on Pi Day
It’s a lot of numbers to find the end, find the end
Pi Day, Pi Day
Countin’ down on Pi Day
It’s a lot of numbers to find the end, find the end
Countin’, countin’ (Pi)
Countin’, countin’ (Pi)
Three, point, one, four
Many more numbers till the end
Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday
Today i-is Pi Day, Pi Day
We-we-we so excited
We so excited
Einstein born today
Tomorrow is Saturday
And Sunday comes after … wards
I’m a mathematician
