'The Foreigner' Opens Thursday in Quogue
Hampton Theatre Company is bringing back a play that was a wild success for the Quogue troupe back in 1991, Larry Shue’s The Foreigner.
The comedy is about a shy and awkward English traveler in rural Georgia who becomes an unlikely hero.
Matthew Conlon portrays the titular character. He is returning to Hampton Theatre Company after a near 20-year hiatus. Diana Marbury and James Ewing are reprising their roles from the 1991 production, naive innkeeper Betty Meeks and redneck firebrand Owen Musser, respectively.
Rounding out the cast are Hampton Theater Company veterans Joe Pallister, Ben Schnickel and Terry Brockbank, and newcomer Krista Kurtzberg, an actual Georgia native.
The Foreigner will be staged March 13 through March 30 at Quogue Community Hall, 125 Jessup Avenue, Quogue. Showtimes are Thursdays and Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m.
