Southampton Village Police: Man with Stolen Credit Card Held on $25,000 Bail
A Southampton man who tried to pay for a meal at a village restaurant with a stolen credit card was arrested and found to have used the card fraudulently at two other village businesses recently, according to police.
Southampton Village police said they were called to 75 Main on April 9 at about 8:15 p.m. after 41-year-old Zurab Khatiashvili presented the card to pay his dinner bill. Khatiashvili was also found to have used the card at CVS and Waldbaum’s in recent days and detectives are investigating additional fraudulent charges he rang up, police said.
Khatiashvili was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, and petty larceny, a misdemeanor. He was remanded to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverside in lieu of $25,000 bail
