Victim 'Critical But Stable' After Shooting on Shinnecock Reservation

A 36-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds during a shooting Thursday morning on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation in Southampton, according to New York State police.
Police said they responded to a 911 at 6 a.m., and when troopers arrived they learned the victim had already be taken in a private vehicle to Southampton Hospital. The victim was immediately taken into surgery and is now listed in critical but stable condition, police said Friday morning.
The shooting was on Old Soldiers Road, troopers learned.
State police ask anyone with information for contact the Bureau of Criminal Investigations at 631-208-9002. Calls will be kept confidential, police said.
