Douglas Elliman Acquires Lloyd's Realty
Douglas Elliman Real Estate will open its second North Fork office in the coming weeks due to increased demand for properties in this region. The new location is in the heart of downtown Greenport near Mitchell Park at 124 Front Street.
President and CEO Dottie Herman said Douglas Elliman is responding to the newfound level of interest in North Fork properties.
“The North Fork is in the midst of a big resurgence, and we needed to grow along with the success of the region,” Herman said. “We go where our clients are, and Greenport simply makes sense for strategic growth in the North Fork.”
The North Fork boasts numerous beaches, vineyards and farms for buyers or renters looking for a quieter and more affordable alternative to the Hamptons.
In the past year alone, the North Fork real estate market boomed. According to market reports by the firm, first quarter sales in the North Fork are up 39.7% from this time last year. The quarter marks the largest amount of sales for the region in seven years.
The new Douglas Elliman office will take over the former home of Lloyd’s Realty. The Lloyd’s team, including broker Kathy Lloyd Rosenbaum, will continue to work at the Greenport location, now as part of Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
Ann Conroy, the president of Douglas Elliman’s Long Island division, said the new office is part of the rising growth of the entire company.
“Douglas Elliman has been in tremendous expansion mode, and our new Greenport offices is just more evidence of our commitment to better serve our customers,” she said.
The new location adds to the more than 70 nationwide offices employing more than 4,000 agents in New York City, Long Island, Westchester, Los Angeles, South Florida and the Hamptons. Douglas Elliman Real Estate is the largest residential brokerage in New York.
