Free Car Seat Inspections Offered in Greenport Friday
EAC Network is teaming up with local police departments to offer free car seat inspections to Long Island residents.
The inspections are part of a larger program called the SAFE START Program, which provides educational workshops on child passenger safety to the public. The SAFE START Program seeks to promote the safety of all children in motor vehicles and reduce the number of children riding unrestrained.
Because three out of four car seats are used incorrectly, EAC is offering free car seat inspections this month. Additionally, a limited number of free booster seats will also be distributed during the two days of inspections.
On Friday, June 13, at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church in Greenport from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Suffolk County sheriff’s office, Suffolk County Police Department and EAC’s certified technicians will be on site to inspect car seats and provide parents with essential information about child passenger safety.
All inspections at both events are by appointment only so interested parents must call 631-648-7100 ext. 219.
