Harvest East End and Dan's Papers Enter Joint Venture
Dan’s Papers, LLC has entered into joint venture agreement with Harvest East End to produce the Dan’s Harvest East End food and wine event. Celebrating the special wines of Long Island and benefitting the Long Island Farm Bureau Promotion and Education Foundation and Peconic Land Trust, this nonprofit group event will be organized and produced by Dan’s Papers and the Long Island Wine Council.
This year, Dan’s Harvest East End will be on Saturday, August 23 at McCall Vineyard and Ranch on the North Fork of Long Island. Since its inception in 2010, Harvest East End has raised $153,000 for its charity beneficiaries.
Tickets go on sale for the event on Wednesday, June 4 and can be purchased at harvesteastend.com.
Bob Edelman, CEO of Dan’s Papers, said, “This is a wonderful opportunity for Dan’s Papers as we continue to participate proactively in the communities we have served for the past 50-plus years, and to be involved with this nonprofit, Harvest East End, in a very important and meaningful way. We look forward to helping the Long Island Wine Council ensure the ongoing success of this celebration of Long Island wines and reaffirming the Dan’s Papers brand as one of the premier event–driven companies on the East End.”
The Dan’s Harvest East End event chair, and proprietor and winemaker at Jamesport Vineyards, Ron Goerler, Jr., stated, “This is Harvest East End’s fifth year, and with Dan’s Papers as the managing partner in this joint venture we expect this year to be even more exciting for all the participating wineries and restaurants, and a fun experience for all attending. I am extremely happy about working with Dan’s Papers.”
Winemakers from approximately 40 vineyards will pour more than 2,000 bottles of current-release wines and barrel samples while more than 30 top regional chefs will serve seasonal tastes sourced from area farms and fresh fare from our local waters. A silent auction offering wines in large-format jeroboam bottles, ideal for cellaring, underscores the age-ability of Long Island’s wines.
