Shopkeepers Excited as Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian Tour Town
Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian took downtown Southampton Tuesday afternoon. It was in the first visit to the village for the filming of their upcoming E! reality show spin-off, Kourtney and Khloé Take the Hamptons.
The famous sisters lunched and shopped, causing quite a stir in the otherwise sleepy village. The stylish duo was hard to miss, Khloé clad in a simple black dress and Kourtney donning a navy top and white lace shorts. Fans came out to sneak a peek and snap a picture of the reality stars, along with their E! crew to document the afternoon.
Filming included lunch at 75 Main and shopping at Intermix and Stevenson’s Toys. Shopkeepers seemed to be just as excited as local fans at the arrival of the notorious family.
Zach Erdem of 75 Main said Kourtney and Khloé were gracious to him and everyone at the restaurant, even engaging with fans as they laughed and enjoyed lunch from a window table.
“They’re very sweet,” he said. “There’s no reason not to like them.”
He added that the sisters thanked him for welcoming them and that they expressed excitement about spending their summer in Southampton.
75 Main will be a popular filming location for the Kardashians throughout the summer. Erdem explained that E! producers approached him weeks in advance regarding the use of 75 Main as a regular location for filming. The sisters will dine at the popular Southampton restaurant for their meals out, including multiple anticipated breakfast, brunch and dinner dates in the coming weeks.
Erdem said he loves having the Kardashians in town and is welcoming to the multiple television shows that approach him. 75 Main has been used in the past for countless filming projects, including Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City.
Erdem added that Kourtney even made a friend on line for the bathroom, stopping and playing with a baby. Kourtney has two children, Mason and Penelope, and is reportedly expecting her third with longtime boyfriend Scott Disick.
Babies were a popular theme of the afternoon, as Kourtney and Khloé stopped at Stevenson’s Toys to pick up some gifts for Mason and Penelope. The popular toy store is just across the street from their Dash pop-up store on Jobs Lane.
Roy Stevenson, the owner of the toy store, said he enjoyed the visit and thinks they will return, hopefully with young Mason and Penelope.
“I’m happy they’re here,” he said. “They like toys just as much as anyone else.”
E! producers called Stevenson a few weeks ago about visiting his store, and they worked out the details for filming there. However, the agreement with Stevenson’s Toys was less formal than the contracts signed with 75 Main.
“It really wasn’t very formal,” said Stevenson of dealing with the network. “They called yesterday and said the girls are in town, and I said I’d love to have them.”
The afternoon also included a trip to Intermix, but employees at the store declined to comment on their high-profile shoppers.
The pair also stopped Tuesday at Southampton Village Hall, walking through the entrance at exactly 4 o’clock—when village hall closes to the public for the day. Their impeccable timing allowed them to have a scheduled meeting at the public building without fans and paparazzi following and disrupting.
Filming continued at their Jobs Alley shop and later Wednesday at their Noyac Road rental. Kourtney and Khloé will surely be back downtown soon, enjoying the warm welcome from village shopkeepers.
