Amy Zerner's Fashion Sense: Super Saturday 17
This is one of my favorite events of the summer season. Sponsored by QVC, Super Saturday is the world famous designer garage sale that will take place Saturday, July 26 in Water Mill.
Kelly Ripa and Donna Karan will host the event at Nova’s Ark Project in Water Mill from 1–6 p.m. with a special preview hour beginning at noon.
Super Saturday 17 is Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s (OCRF) fun-filled, family-oriented daylong fundraiser, complete with a one-of-a-kind designer tag sale, kids’ carnival and activities, a luxury raffle and gourmet treats. Once dubbed “the Rolls Royce of garage sales,” the most anticipated element of Super Saturday is the fashion tag sale, which includes merchandise from more than 200 prominent designers. The “Designers A to Zoe” booth by Rachel Zoe will feature a compilation of pieces from her favorite luxury designers including Etro, Oscar De La Renta, Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler and Stella McCartney.
Once again, OCRF has joined forces with leading multimedia retailer QVC® to make this exciting event available to shoppers nationwide. Broadcasting live from 2–4 p.m., QVC Presents Super Saturday LIVE will offer viewers the chance to purchase a variety of products including apparel, accessories, jewelry and beauty items, with net proceeds benefiting OCRF.
For children at Super Saturday 17, there will be rides and games, as well as arts and crafts galore. New to Super Saturday this year, “Stitched Fashion Camp” will give kids the chance to tap into their inner designer. Parsons professor and fashion designer Rob Younkers and Yahoo Fashion editor-in-chief and executive creative officer Joe Zee will work with children sketching, designing and styling one-of-a-kind t-shirts with custom-made embellishments from Swarovski.
Additionally, OCRF’s Super Saturday Online Auction begins July 16 with amazing one-of-a-kind VIP experiences, celebrity meet and greets, and so much more! Bidding will take place at charitybuzz.com/supersaturday.
In 2013, Super Saturday raised over $3.7 million for Ovarian Cancer Research Fund—all net proceeds go directly to OCRF and its programs.
Ticket prices for Super Saturday 17 are $450 (regular) or $650 (preview) for adults and $150 for kids ages 5-16 (kids under 5 are admitted free).
To purchase tickets or for more information, you can call London Misher Public Relations at 212-759-2800 or visit Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s website, ocrf.org/supersaturday.
