Madeline Picnic Co. Offers Farm-to-Fork Picnics in the Hamptons
Founded just this year, Madeline Picnic Co. is bringing “farm-to-fork picnics” to the East End.
The new business offers prepackaged, picnic-style meals with ingredients sourced from local farms, independent purveyors and top-quality artisans. Each picnic includes daily-made, globally-inspired salads, tartine-style sandwiches and a signature dessert.
Created and operated by Sag Harbor foodie Madeline McLean, “Madeline Picnic Co.’s mission came from an admiration for the natural resources we have access to on the East End,” McLean explains, adding, “We’re striving to facilitate—and encourage—a mobile lifestyle by offering to-go meals of unparalleled quality, so customers can spend more time outside enjoying the incredible beaches, vineyards and green spaces of the area.”
Here’s how it works. Customers simply visit the Madeline Picnic Co. website (madelinepicnic.co) to indicate their order size and individual meal choices. Options include, offerings such as The Mermaid Tartine (smoked local fish, pickled shallots, smashed capers, fresh greens and house-made aioli) and The Green Goddess Pasta Salad (Pea shoot and garlic scape pesto, wilted spinach, roasted fennel, and whole wheat pasta). Every order also has customizable options such as infused waters and kid-friendly meals. Picnics are available for groups of two, four, six and multiples thereof.
Once the picnics are made, they are packed in reusable totes with individual items packaged in eco-friendly and/or biodegradable containers. The fresh, environment-friendly meals are then delivered to one of three pick-up locations: Southampton, Sag Harbor or Amagansett.
A picnic for two is $50 and includes two tartines, two salads, two Madeleine cookies and the reusable tote. For more information or to place an order, visit madelinepicnic.co, call 631-353-8923 or contact Madeline McLean at [email protected].
