Sound Waves at the Beach Debuts at Gurney's Montauk
Gurney’s Montauk‘s seven-week-long music and fashion series Sound Waves at the Beach debuted on Saturday with music DJ’d by Ben Lovett of Mumford and Sons.
The afternoon party kicked off at 2 p.m. with Lovett spinning tunes as guests sipped on Cointreau cocktails from the “make your own Cointreau Rickey bar” and Heineken Light, while snacking on an array of eats on Gurney’s deck overlooking the ocean. More than 800 people came out to enjoy the music and libations, and, despite the threatening rain, the mood was light as party goers mingled with each other and Lovett’s sounds.
DJ Vikas and Big P.A. also took turns DJing, and Charlotte Ronson presented fashion looks, making her first public appearance with new boyfriend Nate Ruess, frontman of Grammy-winning band Fun.
Sound Waves at the Beach returns for its second week this Saturday, July 26 from 2–7 p.m. The party will continue every Saturday through August 30 at Gurney’s Montauk. This week’s event features exclusive DJ performances by Erica Rhone and Arturo “Mr. Fox” Chi’en. Admission to the event is free, though guests must RSVP.
