Inaugural East End Music & Arts Festival Is September 19-20
The East End Music & Arts Festival, a new endeavor which is going to take place over two days in Westhampton Beach and Springs, begins Friday with a concert.
Grammy-nominated pedal steel guitar player Robert Randolph, Grammy-nominated rock band Tonic, American Idol season 10 eighth-place finisher Paul McDonald, singer-songwriter Toby Lightman and Hurrah! A Bolt of Light from New York City will play at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center. Doors are at 7 p.m. and the show is at 8 p.m., but VIP ticket holders may arrive at 5 p.m. for an artist meet-and-greet.
Then Saturday is the free Kids Day, “Art & Astronauts,” featuring Commander Michael “LA” Lopez-Alegri, the NASA record-holder for the most spacewalks and longest spaceflight. Lopez-Alegri will tell children what it’s like being an astronaut and being in space. The event will be held at the Springs Community Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
On both Friday and Saturday, the artwork of Ringo Starr will be on display at Westhampton Beach PAC’s Auer Studio. Admission is free, and Starr will donate the proceeds of art sales to the Lotus Foundation, which he started with his wife, Barbara Bach, with the aim of advancing social welfare.
For Friday’s concert, general admission is $53 and VIP admission is $153. Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center is located at 76 Main St, Westhampton Beach.
Fellowship Hall is at 5 Old Stone Highway, East Hampton.
