UPDATE: Blizzard Warning for East End Canceled; Winter Storm Warning in Effect
The National Weather Service has rescinded a blizzard warning for Suffolk County early. That warning has been replaced with a winter storm warning, which is in effect through 7 p.m.
Another 1 to 3 inches of snow may drop by 7 p.m., which total accumulations of between 20 to 30 inches, according to the weather service. Some areas could experience even more than 30 inches.
Travel restrictions and the state of emergency remain in effect in the Town of Southampton. Riverhead Town has lifted travel restrictions, but the state of emergency continues. East Hampton Town asks that motorists stay off the roads so highway crews may continue plowing.

A blizzard warning for Long Island remains in effect Tuesday through 6 p.m.; the warning originally extended through midnight.
The National Weather Service says the heaviest snowfall will happen during the morning, at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
Snow totals are expected to be between 20 and 30 inches on the East End, with some areas here getting even more than 30 inches.
Wind speeds are reaching 20 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts up to 45 miles per hour. Temperatures are in the low 20s.
Governor Andrew Cuomo lifted his travel ban at 8 a.m., but some local bans remain in effect. Riverhead Town expects to lift its travel ban at noon.
