Spring into spring and summer shopping because the shops are ready to go with most of the new merchandise on the shelves. Let’s do some shopping! At Main Street Sweets and Ben & Jerry’s (631-288-5753) in Westhampton Beach, there are hundreds of chocolate Easter bunnies in sizes that range from two ounces all the way up to their famous eight pounders. Also available is Easter marzipan, jelly belly jellybeans and one pound chocolate, coconut or fruit nut eggs. Kosher candy for Passover includes almond butter crunch, fruit slices and chocolate matzo… Great news! Rags on Jobs Lane in Southampton will be re-opening for the season, filled to the rafters with brand new merchandise. There are lots of long and short-sleeved t-shirts from Vince, Velvet and Splendid, along with a full line from Michael Stars. Look for great dresses and tunics by Splendid that are all the rage, cute tops by Free People, new straight legged jeans by Chip and Pepper and True Religion and a new spring line from Trina Turk that includes nice wide legged pants, dresses and capri’s. The shop will be open Thursday through Monday until April, so get a jump on this season’s new fashions. This is the time of the year to start planning your landscaping and garden designs so they are ready for the growing season. At Unlimited Earth Care’s showroom and boutique, look for a unique display of floral gardens and organic products. Also, get a head start on lawn and hedge installation, care, transplanting and maintenance. They are located at 2249 Scuttlehole Road in Bridgehampton. The early bird always catches the worm. The re-opened Retreat Boutique (631-324-0848) located at 458 Montauk Highway between East Hampton and Amagansett, is flourishing and they are holding a celebratory “50% off sale” on clothing and accessories in order to get ready for their spring clothing. The sale begins on March 30. And… the Retreat Boutique is now accepting spring and summer ladies and mens clothing in great condition only, as well as furniture and housewares. Stop in and visit this shop and pick up some huge winter bargains at half price. Closed Sunday and Tuesday. At the newly renovated boutique side of the Whalebone General Store on Noyac Road in Sag Harbor you will love the new additions that the owner Linda has included just in time for Easter and spring. There are hand-painted (real) eggs (egg shells) that are light-as-a-feather. They have been hand painted in the old world tradition, direct from Peter Priess of Austria to you, perfect for a tree or Easter basket. In the tradition of the Whalebone Store, look for beautiful handmade and scrumptious solid chocolate bunnies in all sizes from tiny to several pounds and cute bunnies for $2.99 and $3.99. New this season, is a great line of delicious cookies and teas from Too Good Gourmet, in striking packages that will make the perfect hostess or Easter gift. Already flying out the door are solid chocolate baskets filled with chocolate eggs and a small chocolate bunny available in two sizes. There are soft and cuddly bunnies, chicks and lambs, rubber bouncing eggs and a lovely glass egg collection in little satin bags. There are plenty of ready-made baskets to go and custom baskets for children and adults that range in price from about $8 to $50. And of course, the real flowers will be arriving daily, just in time for spring.
