EAST END KID:

Neither wind nor rain
BY EMILY HART POST
With a little help for Katlean de Monchy and David Post
The track was muddy but Kids Day at the Hampton Classic still took place. Dad took me to Kids Day and it was much less crowded than last year. I know why, the temperature was in the 60s, the wind was blowing hard and it was raining or drizzling.

Only a short wait at the pony rides I took two. Then we went into the animal tent where kids could pet a few animals and learn about how the animals are taken care of. Then I played at the swing and climbing area for a while. We went up to watch some of the jumpers and then to lunch in a tent. I was happy for that. Some kids and their parents came over to tell me that they love this column.

Thank you. My final stop was at Stephenson’s to buy a toy barn and some cool Breyer horses. After all, it was a horse show. Summer’s almost over. I start school soon. I will always remember this summer and all the things I did and the kids I met.
