FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15

HOME 123 GRAND OPENING- Home 123 Mortgage in Riverhead is having a Grand Opening Party from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Join them for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment. The event will benefit the Little Flower School Educational Foundation. Please RSVP by calling 631-681-1997.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16

“COUPLES” EXHIBITION- “Couples” is an exhibition of the work of three couples who are prominent artists on the East End. Rosalind Brenner, painter and Mike Cardacino, photographer, Linda Capello, painter and John Capello, sculptor, Rosanne Schwab, printmaker and Walter Schwab, photographer, will be showing their work at the deCordova Studio and Gallery in Greenport, From now until October 3rd. The gallery is located at 538 in Greenport. This is some very interesting and exciting work. Call 631-477-0620 for hours and for more information about the exhibition.

BENEFIT IN BLACK AND WHITE- Someone will become the owner of a freshwater pearl necklace designed especially for the Benefit in Black & White by Nancy B. Lobel. The benefit will be held at the waterfront estate of Honorary Chairs Cynthia and Neal Hochman from 7 p.m. to midnight and will include cocktails with buffet dinner, music, and dancing. Highlighting the evening will be a silent auction featuring a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo, compliments of Eagle Auto Mall in Riverhead. Also is a four-night stay at the Presidential Suite at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas including dinner at Tao and two tickets to the show Phantom Las Vegas; a one-year membership to Hampton Hills Golf and Country Club and a bust of Albert Einstein by renowned sculptor Robert Berks of Orient, to mention just a few. STREET FAIR- From 3-8 p.m. the Word of Life Ministries hosts a multichurch street fair in the parking lot of newly renovated Peconic waterway off Peconic Avenue, Riverhead. CONCERT AT BEDELL- Rob Cannillo and Friends will be performing at Bedell Cellars (36225 Main Road, Cutchogue, NY) in the new tasting pavilion. Cannillo will be performing from 2:00pm - 6:00pm. His music combines the sounds of rock, jazz and the blues. “Rob’s style is a little Gregg Allman, a little John Mellencamp, a little Dave Matthews, a little Bruce, some James Taylor, but mostly Rob.” The open air tasting room located adjacent to the indoor tasting room features a breathtaking view of the vineyard. Featuring an extra long tasting bar, the new pavilion more than doubles the bar space available for wine tasters. There is no charge for the performance. MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 18

8:30 a.m.—Trip and landing at Little Gull Lighthouse with narration by local historian Merlon Wiggin. Trip rescheduled from Aug. 28. Board Prime Time at Orient by the Sea marina, Orient. Return for lunch at Orient by the Sea restaurant, presentations and drawing for original Rich Fiedler painting. Chances for drawing: $50. Cost: $95. SEPTEMBER 23 SUNSET/MOONLIGHT/LIGHTHOUSE CRUISE- The seventh annual “beacons of the Night” cruise will take place at 4 p.m. boarding in Greenport. Lighthouses scheduled to be seen include Long Beach Bar, Orient Point, Plum Island, Little Gull Island, and Race Rock. Cost is $75 and includes sandwiches, salads and soft drinks. Funds raised help the Long Island Lighthouse Society continue its historic lighthouse preservation and education programs. Reservations are required. For more info call 631-277-4611.

SEPTEMBER 20 SPOTLIGHT ON LONG ISLAND – Take a trip to Planting Fields Arboretum, Oyster Bay, and lunch at de Seversky Culinary Center, Old Westbury. Tour Nassau County Museum of Art, Roslyn Harbor featuring Saltzman Fine Art building, Lee Ridder Miniature Museum and sculpture garden. SEPTEMBER 27 RICHARD NONCARROW MEMORIAL GOLF CLASSIC- The North Fork Environmental Council (NFEC) will host its seventh annual golf outing at Island’s End Golf and Country Club, Rt. 25, Greenport, New York, on Wednesday, September 27. The Classic will feature a 1:00 p.m. Shotgun start. Check-In is at 11:00 a.m., followed by a barbeque lunch. The event celebrates the life and honors the memory of Richard Noncarrow, a past Board member of the Council, who died two years ago. The cost of the event is $150.00 per person, a portion of which is tax deductible. A cocktail hour which will feature a one hour open bar and hot and cold hors d’ oeuvres, precedes a buffet dinner. NFEC’S Go For The Gold Raffle will be held during the dinner. 631-477-4914

SEPTEMBER 23 GREEN BUILDING- From 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. the North Fork Environmental Council and Sea Tow Services International present “Green Building —- Good for the Environment, Good for Business,” at Sea Tow’s new LEED certifiable building, corner of Boisseau & Hummel Avenues, Southold. Captain Joe Frohnhoefer, CEO of Sea Tow leads a lively panel discussion, followed by a tour of Sea Tow’s new headquarters. Refreshments will be served. SIRENS’ SONG GALLERY – Featuring an exhibit of intaglio prints and sculpture entitled “Unjustifiable Creatures” by artist Anneli Armes. Exhibition runs from August 5 to September 4. Also on view are prints by Caroline Waloski. Located at 516 Main Street in Greenport. Call 631-477-1021.

GOLF LESSONS – The Town of Southampton Parks & Recreation Department invites adults interested in learning the fundamentals of golf to join in the summer Golf Instruction program at Indian Island Golf Course.
