Ahhh September, a glorious time of year here on the East End.

Don’t miss out on the Clam Bar on Napeague stretch. They are open seven days a week until October 31st and weekends through November, weather permitting. Warm up with their famous clam chowder or chili, or try the fried clams. For more information call (631) 267-6348. Also on Napeague stretch, 27 Lobster and Surf Shack has switched to its fall hours which are Friday 5-11 p.m., Saturday noon-11 p.m. and Sunday noon-10 p.m. For more information call (631) 267-6980.

In Bridgehampton check out Loaves and Fishes Cookshop ongoing Saturday cooking demonstrations. On September 23rd Chef Joseph Hsu of the Southampton Inn will be doing a demo. The demos take place every Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. and feature some of the East End’s top chefs. They are also expanding, for the up island crowd, to a Garden City location. Almondito Restaurant in Bridgehampton will be celebrating the “Day of the Dead” at the James Beard House in New York City on Thursday, November 2nd, starting at 7 p.m. The event will start with a reception at 7 p.m. during which time cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served in the greenhouse. Dinner will start at 8 p.m. and includes five courses, matching wines with each course and dessert. The cost of the event is $90 for members and $120 for non-members. The Coast Grill overlooking Wooley Pond, on Noyac Road in Southampton, is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday for dinner at 5 p.m. They also offer a 2 for 1 entrée special on Friday and Saturday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and all night on Sunday. For more information or a reservation call (631) 283-2277.

For a great deal, head to Turtle Crossing, in East Hampton, for their three-course prix fixe for $20 per person Thursday thru Monday nights starting Friday, September 15th. Choice will vary but here are some samples. For appetizers: homemade brisket or white bean chili, or mixed greens salad; entrees: chili crusted stuffed chicken breast with herb goat cheese and smoked tomatoes over white bean and roasted corn relish; smoked salmon and green apple quesadilla with a scallion and horse radish cream, and many different dessert choices. In Westhampton Beach, Annona is offering a Monday night pasta prix fixe dinner for $22 per person and on Sunday enjoy a three-course family-style dinner for $28 per person. Mangia! They are open year-round seven days a week for dinner from 5 to 11 p.m. and for lunch Thursday to Saturday from 12 to 2:30 p.m. For more details call (631) 288-7766.

In Amagansett, Gordon’s offers a $27 prix fixe Sunday through Thursday and a $32 prix fixe on Friday. They are closed on Mondays and reservations are required. For more info or a reservation call (631) 267-3010.

In Southampton don’t miss Le Chef who offers an early bird special for $21.95 per person plus tax and tip. The three-course meal is offered Sunday thru Friday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. sharp and they are open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. The Seafood Barge, in Southold, has new fall hours for lunch and dinner. They are open Monday thru Friday from 12 to 2:30 p.m. for lunch and re-open for dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Fridays. On Saturday they open from 12 to 10 p.m. and from 12 to 9 p.m. on Sunday. For more details call (631) 765-3010.

Don’t forget The Cooperage Inn, in Baiting Hollow, will have their 7th annual fall festival Saturdays and Sundays starting Saturday, September 16th thru Sunday, October 22nd from noon until 6 p.m., with fire roasted corn, bratwurst, pulled pork sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, festive beers, wines, liquors, and fun food and treats for the kiddies.
