Breaking NewsPipeBomb Scare There has been a rash of bomb threats at Long Island high schools in the past week, the third one hitting a little too close to home. Word spread quickly on Wednesday night that East Hampton High School had received an e-mail stating that three bombs would be detonated at the school on Thursday. Police were called in. A locker-by-locker search took place, which found no explosives. Students’ bags were searched, which created a hassle for the kids and yielded no evidence. With the heightened security, classes continued, though attendance was slightly lower than usual. In the previous days leading up to the East Hampton scare, Centereach High School was evacuated after received a similar bomb threat and Holy Trinity High School in Hicksville dealt with a scare when someone posted they were going to bring a gun to school. Unlike East Hampton, the threat came way of a MySpace.com posting and not an e-mail. The Internet Service Provider and the police are working together to trace the source of the email but as of press time nothing has been released. Sagg General Store At last, there is light at a very long, and deli free tunnel. There is a new sign posted on the door of the Sagg General Store which states that it will be opening in early October. For over a year the Sagaponack staple has been closed as it underwent serious renovations. But now it is back and that is very good news for its fans.
