The tour, album, and current media blitz surrounding the rapper are all due to his recent return from his two-year retirement. * * * A gallery exhibit featuring the work of Wainscott photographer Pete Turner, who will be signing copies of his new book, The Color of Jazz, published by Rizzoli, will be opening this weekend at East End Books. * * * Dan’s Papers writer and North Fork editor, David Lion Rattiner, bumped into “Seinfeld’s” Bob Balaban at the Sagg General Store last weekend. Bob is reported to have said that the coffee at the Sagg General Store is “the best coffee in Sagaponack.” * * * Hampton’s broker Tara Newman has sold the Hannibal French House in Sag Harbor for the third time, for a record-breaking $6,850,000. She sold the same property for $995,000 in 1989 and again for $1,750,000 in 1999. * * * The Picture Show at Bay Street Theatre is proud to present Lauren Bacall and Sidney Lumet in a conversation hosted by Jeffrey Lyons, live on stage after a screening of the 1974 Agatha Christie classic Murder On The Orient Express on Saturday. The selected artwork will be used for promotional materials, merchandise, and print and television public service announcements.
