Fine Time To Recline

Following a long day of work, or even after a short day of leisure, there is little to nothing that can compare to a solid sitting-session in a recliner chair. Seat-time may frequent all facets of your day, but rarely is it the kind where your arms, ankles, shoulders, feet, elbows, knees, neck, and head are all at complete rest. There is something in the manner in which gravity gathers you further into the comfortable cushion beneath your bosom as your legs perpendicularly hover outstretched above the floor. It is a sensation that mirrors that of a yoga position, only no effort is required – some kind of laziness in limbo. Whatever you call it, it is worth taking the time to evaluate the status of your reclining chair, or lack thereof, to achieve this moment of maximized relaxation. Traditionally, color is not much of an important factor in choosing a chair. How many times have you seen the “TV chair” sticking out like a sore thumb in the room of real furniture? The interior design craze, however, has changed tradition and provided color-coordinated options with which you can easily blend that chair in with the rest of the room. Your choice of fabric should be based first on resiliency to various heights, weights, shapes and sizes during weeks and months of wear but hopefully not tear. A layer of leather will last you a lifetime of lazy days if treated gently (just remember to make sure the sloppy eaters stick with the other furniture). As classic as leather may be, its high maintenance and the occasional slipperiness that makes it hard to remain perfectly still is reason enough to explore mesh or other micro-fiber fabrics. These marvels of mechanics have been around for over 75 years and, thanks to modern technology and a solid dedication to leisure, recliner chairs now feature quite a few perks that add a whole new experience to your sitting-session. Massage rollers and heating pads, for instance, are now placed beneath the cushions to make the chair work harder for you. Suspended in your chair, with all limbs at rest, the soothing warmth and vibration adds a nearly spiritual element as you drift into further relaxation. Other recently evolved aspects are storage compartments and even a compatible mini-cooler (usually within one or both of the armrests) that, in addition to keeping your libations cool at the right temperature, provide you with even more reason to avoid getting up for awhile. Just make sure there is a built-in battery as a back-up for if and when the AC adapter gets knocked out of the socket. There are no brand new models of recliner chairs on the market as of now, and La-Z-Boy remains the most available and popular at Macy’s and JC Penny. Your average recliner is available at most furniture stores, but to find one that has one of those extra perks like a cooler require a search online. Your best bet is www.reclinerchairs.org. If you have children at the age of five or younger, consider the safety of the chair you buy or currently have. Believe it or not, the Consumer Product Safety Commission has been releasing warning statements since the early 1980s about the dangers of recliner chairs. Children remain susceptible to head or limb injury if unsupervised while climbing around the chair as the opening between the chair seat and the leg rest can quickly clamp down on them. In addition to a lovely wealth of laziness, recliner chairs may also provide several health benefits – particularly to those suffering from medical conditions such as arthritis, asthma, circulation problems and back pain. The additional seating positions one finds in such a chair help relieve straining and stagnation of at-risk parts of the body as well as reduce the risk of pressure sores and other conditions. For the best benefits, obtain a dual-motor chair because models with one motor are not as adjustable. The backrests and footrests can be independently adjusted on dual-motor models, while they are adjusted simultaneously on single motor models. This can lead to difficulty when standing up from or sitting down in the chair as the backrest is not in sync with the footrest. This could remain a problem for those with mobility or joint problems. Be it reasons of health or relaxation, a dependable (and safe) recliner chair is an essential addition to your home. With the holidays approaching, there will be several reasons, as well as plenty of time to lounge and remain at rest. Think of the big meals that will need a digesting, the brand new DVDs that will need a watching, and the long days that will need an escaping – and you will think of the right choice for an ideal sitting-session.
