Harassment
A man was arrested in East Hampton Village after he called 911 and was
verbally abusive to the dispatcher. He was also reporting something
that was not an emergency. He was arrested for aggravated harassment,
and because he couldn’t post bail, was sent to jail. The lesson
here is: “be nice.”

Sucker Punched
A man and a woman who room together in Water Mill had an episode last
week. The man was caught eating some of the woman’s food and,
in response, the woman popped him in the jaw. The man then called the
police. At the scene, the police learned that the man stole some of
the woman’s secret stash of Godiva chocolates. Police advised
the man to never, ever, under any circumstances, touch a woman’s
private stash of chocolates.

Camera and Television
A $1,000 television and a $2,000 digital camera were stolen from a Southampton
home last week. Somebody did not have their priorities straight when
they went to go purchase some electronics.

Bad Checks
A woman in Water Mill was arrested last week after she was caught issuing
$10,000 worth of bad checks to various different people. She has pled
“broke.”

Weird Guy
A man was found stumbling in the middle of the road in Hampton Bays,
stopping traffic and acting in a disorderly fashion. There were no reports
of intoxication. The man said to police that he owned the house. He
was stumbling around in front of the yard and he also claimed to own
a bicycle, which he was attempting to steal by the time police got there.
Neighbors confirmed that he definitely did not own the house. Apparently,
he just felt like getting arrested.

Nice Garden
A man in Hampton Bays was arrested last week after he was caught growing
marijuana plants in his back yard. Police arrested him on grounds for
growing marijuana without a license. When the man heard the charge,
he said, “Where do I go to get a license for that?”

Six Guys Arrested
Six men were arrested last week in a Riverhead prostitution sting that
involved an undercover female officer. The men caught were willing to
pay between $15 and $25 for sexual conduct. Needless to say, they went
to jail sexually frustrated.

Dope
A guy was pulled over while driving a car without a registration sticker.
Police inspected the vehicle and found that one license plate on the
front of the car did not match the back of the car. The man was then
asked to present his license, which he did not have. He then gave officers
a fake name. Police arrested the man and then shook their heads.
