Congratulations to Alec Baldwin of Amagansett, who was awarded a Golden Globe for “Best Performance By An Actor In A Television Series – Comedy or Musical” at last week’s awards ceremony, for his role in “30 Rock.”

Hamptonite Howard Stern certainly gets in the giving spirit during the Holiday season. The infamous shock-jock recently sent Ralph Cirella, his hairstylist and wardrobe guru of ten years, a $50,000 holiday bonus accompanied by a promise that as long as Cirella is alive, “he will be taken care of.”

Long Island native and Belle’s Café, Stephen’s Talkhouse and Memory Motel regular Stephen Marshak has been making a splash on the pop-jazz scene recently, snagging the title of most-added artist in the Radio and Records Charts for the last week of December as well as spots in the top 50 on the Smoothjazz.com charts for the past 25 weeks. Besides receiving heavy play on Smooth Zazz CD 101.9, Stephen has been traveling to East Hampton and Central Islip schools to teach children about how to play and appreciate jazz.

East Hampton’s own Renée Zellweger is currently gracing the cover of this month’s Vogue magazine, accompanied by her main man, Peter Rabbit. Zellweger posed with the bunny to promote her new movie, in which she plays famous children’s book author and rabbit lover Beatrix Potter.

After 1,111 performances during a record-breaking three years on the road in the United States and Japan, the final touring performance of Hamptonite Billy Joel and Twyla Tharp’s musical based on Joel’s songs, Movin’ Out, is movin’ out.

Hamptonite and co-chair of the annual Carousel Dinner Dance (along with chairs Lois Pope and Mary Montgomery) Frances Hayward has just released a 2007 calendar of her beloved German Shepherd, Amigo, with all proceeds going to their animal charty, BeKind (www.bekind.org).

East Hamptonite Steven Spileberg and his family were seen at a performance of the Broadway coming-of-age musical, Spring Awakening last weekend. The young Spielbergs kept themselves busy during intermission playing video games.

Best of luck to Barbara Feldman of BF Designs, Dan’s Papers’ Best of The Best winner for Best Property Staging, and her five-year-old Afghan Hound Champion Simplicity Encore Oliver. Barbara’s first show dog will be competing for his own “Best of The Best” award at the Westminster Kennel Club’s Championship Dog Show at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Watch for them on USA Network at 8 p.m. on February 13!

Hamptonite Kathleen Turner has announced that her book, Take the Lead, Lady, will be published by Springboard Publications, and is set to hit the bookstores sometime in the winter of 2008.

Forrest “Fire” Gray, the 14-year-old son of the late monologist Spalding Gray and lead guitarist of Too Busy Being Bored (the local Long Island band that won the Knitting Factory’s Battle of The Bands contest last year), played a sold-out show last Saturday, with 100 people turned away from the door, to the delight of Bridgehamptonite Christie Brinkley, who compared Too Busy Being Bored to “the early Strokes.” Forrest’s little brother, Theo Gray’s, star is also rising – Theo is up for the lead role in the musical version of Billy Elliot on Broadway.

Luke Perry of “Beverly Hills, 90210” was speen having a romantic dinner date at the Sunset Tower Hotel’s Tower Bar restaurant with East Hamptonite Renée Zellweger last Thursday night.
