BMW M1 Art Car By Frank Stella Is Bought by Hamptons Business Owner

Jonathan Sobel, the owner of BMW of Southampton, is a man with some fine taste. He is the proud new owner of a BMW M1 Procar that was painted by world famous artist Frank Stella in 1979.

The car is one of the first art cars ever made, which is when a famous artist is commissioned to paint a new automobile by the car company itself. BMW was the first company to produce a car with this concept.

Sobel is showcasing the car at his dealership.

Interestingly enough, the car spent years on display at the Guggenheim Museum in Manhattan before it was auctioned off for $854, 000.
