East Hampton Historical Society’s 2011 House Tour and Kickoff Cocktail Party

Some of the finest examples of historic and modern architecture in the Hamptons are showcased in the East Hampton Historical Society’s 2011 House Tour.
The 27th annual event kicks off with a cocktail party on Friday, November 25, at 6 p.m., at the historic Charles H. Adams House in East Hampton Village, and the tour of five homes follows on Saturday, November 26, from 1–4:30 p.m.
Tickets to the Opening Night Cocktail Party start at $150 and include entry to the tour on Saturday. Tickets to the House Tour are $65 in advance and $75 on the day of the tour.
Southold Historical Society Annual Candlelight Tour
Friday, November 25, 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Southold Historical Society, Maple Lane, Southold
With Santa and his elves in the old pine Neck Barn and the blacksmith beating away in the Cleveland-Gagen Blacksmith Shop it must be time again for the annual Candlelight Tour and Tree Lighting at the Southold Historical Society.
Trot Off That Turkey for Charity! To Benefit The Community House at Old Whalers
Saturday, November 26, 7:30 a.m. West Water Street, Sag Harbor
Runners, walkers and strollers welcome! The course is a mostly flat loop up Main St. to Glover and into Redwood, then back to the start. The Community House Fund is used to maintain spaces used by many community groups that serve several hundred people each week. The registration fee is tax deductible.
2nd Annual Shelter Island Turkey Plunge
Saturday, November 26, 10:30 a.m . Crescent Beach, Shelter Island
The Second Annual Shelter Island Turkey Plunge to benefit the Shelter Island Public Library includes prizes for Best Costume and free refreshments. Sign up at the Shelter Island Public Library in advance or at Crescent Beach on Plunge Day. A $25 donation is suggested. Benefits the 125th anniversary fund for the renovation of the lower level of the library.
Magical Main St. Lighting Ceremony in Southampton to Honor Make A Wish Foundation
Saturday, November 26, 1 p.m. Southampton Village, Southampton
The season of giving back is here with a white light display along Main Street in Southampton to honor the children of the Make A Wish Foundation of Suffolk County. Main St. will be alive with holiday music, horse-drawn carriage rides, refreshments and, of course, a special visit from Santa himself.
