Montauk's Ronjo Hotel Is In Contract, New Owners Plan A New Name
Ronjo is one of those hotels in Montauk that everybody knows about. The main reason has to do with a giant, ugly, tiki statue that sits outside of the hotel, and has become part of the fabric of Montauk.
Well things are a-changing.
The hotel has been bought by Chris Jones (you know him as the guy who owns Sole East in Montauk) and his business partner Larry Siedlick are in contract to buy the legendary hotel. The duo is pretty well known now for transforming mopey, run down hotels in Montauk into trendy and modern resorts, and they are planning on doing the very same thing for Ronjo, and a full renovation is planned.
And you can expect a name change as well. The new name is going to be “The Montauk Beach House.”
All good things. But we will all miss the tiki statue.
